The little theatre by the sea – Rosanna Ley

Okay predictable and no fireworks with the romance part. Hated the small side story of Faye’s parents and guessed early on the outcome. A nice enough story if you are looking for a light read but for me a little dull.

Thanks to the author for allowing me to read this through NetGalley for an unbiased review.

Roxanne St Claire

A message from the author….

I have to address something with my readers, friends, and fans that is a bit uncomfortable for me. In no way do I want to cast another author in an unflattering light, so that is not my intention with this post. However, I need to clarify something that is starting to become an issue. There is an author using the name Roxy Sinclaire who is writing what looks to be erotica. This is not me, not a version of a pen name for me, and has nothing to do with me. Her author photo is from a stock photo site and, it has been pointed out, that the image looks a little like a (MUCH YOUNGER) version of me, especially with my signature glasses. I don’t know this author and have not read her books or sought her out. I’m afraid that the name willl confuse readers who purchase her books expecting a Roxanne St. Claire book. This post is not a call to action or disparagement of this author’s choice of pen names. I just want my readers to know Roxy Sinclaire IS NOT ME.

Ladd Springs – Diane Venetta

I didn’t like the characters. From Nick ogling every female he sees then falling madly in love just after he finds out the secret? Too Delaney with her gun in her boot that when in trouble can’t get too fast enough. All the greed over land I get but doesn’t make you like the characters. Far too much going on that you get confused with the story switching between characters on a next paragraph without warning. And don’t get me started on the kiss, yucky description as far as I can say. Plus ends on a cliffhanger but for a series that’s to be expected but feels like it ends mid-chapter.

4 out of 5

Gosh where to start with this?
It pulls you in very quickly and has some amazing writing but there is a big but with this story.

I hated Oz with his emotional bullying and how cold he treated Beth. Nash is a controlling person that made me want to scream at Beth to run as far away as possible and last was Beth. Her acceptance of the way Oz treated her was downright pathetic. Sorry she was still madly in love or questioning if he still loved her after being cruel then going along with everything Nash wanted.

So why a four? I guess the writing pushed it up. There were parts that kept me gripped and considering I hated the love triangle this was a miracle.

Another reason this was a completed story and no cliffhanger at the end.

This for me was a free ebook on offer at the time but as a site promotion.
