Love, Murder & Mayhem – Crazy 8 press

A goon’s tale – Kelly Meding

Not what I expected but a bitter little revenge story. Short but enough to count as a story.

The reboot of Jennis Viatorem – Karissa Laurel

I did love this story but felt it cut off a little too sharply. Would have liked a conclusion.

Fractured – Robert Greenberger

Interesting story. I like that you didn’t know which direction it was heading.

A Matter of Principle – Lois Spangler

Ok felt more of a scene than a story but still entertaining.

The case of the missing Alien baby mama – Paul Kupperberg

A strange little tale but keeps you interested.

Super Mom’s Cookie Caper – Paige Daniels

A great little story of a super-hero mum’s life.

The Responders – Michael Jan Friedman

A sweet little story that reminds me of the Beatles.

Invasive Maneuvers – Hildy Silverman

This one is my favourite so far. A great story and I’ll be looking up this author.

The Note on the Blue Screen – Mary Fan

A futuristic Sherlock Holmes story. Very good.

The Hardwicke Files: The case of my old life and the new one I never knew – Russ Colchamiro

I’m becoming a big fan of Russ Colchamiro. Love his easy writing style. Humorous and intelligent comes across the page as you read.

As Time Goes By – Patrick Thomas

Oh what a powerful story, loved it.

This Mortal Coil – Peter David, Kathleen David and Sean O’Shea

Another great story.

Speedeth all – Mariah L. Crawford

Another good story of war… I will not give it away but brilliant.

Make it didn’t happen – Glenn Hauman

Great story about the problems with time travel….

Duckbob: Killer Service – Aaron Rosenberg

Funny little tale and one of my favourites in this collection.

A fantastic collection of short stories

Heineken Alcohol Free

Now I had two tiny cans free with my musclefood order but thought I would do a review also. Not what I expected for alcohol free larger. Not a big drinker of Heineken larger but a pleasant drink and better than I expected. I do tend to go for a smoother larger but I would happily buy this in future.

Venison Sausages from Musclefood

These smelled great cooking. A very high meat quality with little sizzling in cooking showing how little fat that is in these sausages. A pack of six for £4.00. A very meaty texture when eating and a full flavour. A little more expensive than I normally pay but worth it to cut out the fat for me.

Per 100g

165kcal

Fat 5.5g

Of which saturates 2.9g

Carbohydrate 13.7g

Of which sugars 1.1g

Fibre 1.5g

Protein 14.3g

Salt 1.2g

The pack is weighted as 400g so just under the nutritional value of above per sausage. If you like your sausages meaty rather than fatty then these are great or you are looking to swap to a healthier lifestyle in food choices then you love this group. Bitter Roots – C.J Carmichael

This is classed as a thriller but for me it reads like a dark romance novel or general fiction. A little too light and no feel of danger to the story. The murder in itself feels like an added backstory for the characters rather than the important part of this story. If you like these new types of fiction then it’s written well but for me I need more of a feeling of horror or pity for the victim but this really didn’t seem to care about the victim.

Breathing two worlds – Ruchira Khanna

This cover does need a redo so will update once the author has finalised this.

This is my next review read that I had free from the author for an unbiased review. The copy I got still needs smoothing out so I need to review on story only and not editing as it’s still being processed.

Starts out with Neena leaving India for America. A great start but it jumps to a fully settled Neena in America after. I would have liked more of Neena’s adjustments in a strange new world.

The writing style is a little disjointed with the translation but I think it gives it more feeling of Neena and the way she thinks and talks and to have it professionally translated might take away the connection to Neena.

A heartfelt story of adjusting to a new life as well as maintaining Neena’s culture.

Muscle Food

I stumbled onto this food site by accident but have placed an order as it seems to be a good offer. Will update when I get it but if anyone clicks the link you will be able to get a free food item. The offer I got was a free 24 meat pack with an order of chicken. Seems like a good deal but we see when it gets delivered on Wednesday.

Doesn’t look a lot for £27. But the chicken portions are larger than you would get in store. The vacuum packs do make them look smaller than they actually are. Excellent packaging. Individual reviews on food products coming soon as I have tested them.
