Finders Keepers – Russ Colchamiro

This is my next review read on my shelf. First chapter in feels like an hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy feel to the story which is a great start for me.

Often funny and all great characters at 20%. Love all the different characters some knowing looking for the lost jar left on Earth by an accident and some stumbling into a world beyond their understanding. Loving the story so far and I’m a big Hichhicker’s fan and this so far is up to that standard of writing.

Onto part two of the story. This has an intelligent writing style you expect with a good science fiction novel. Great characters that you can relate to and a story that is believable and not just silly that sometimes happens with science fiction.

The story is a page turner you find hard to put down. I found the ending cut off a little sharply but no cliffhanger. I think this could possibly be a series as the characters have more to give the reader.

Paris for one – Jojo Moyles

This is supposed to be nine short stories. Not read anything by Jojo Moyles before but enjoying the first story Paris for one. This is a lovely novelette that takes you to about 40% into the book.

Between the tweets

Ok I didn’t like this one at all.

Love in the afternoon

This is a few pages long and a nice quick scene but I wouldn’t class it as a story. Nice enough for a few minutes though.

A bird in the hand

Another quick little reads but a good quick scene that tells enough to warrant a story.

Crocodile Shoes

Oh this is a little gem I can relate too. Short and sweet but a good story.

Holdups

This is my favourite out of the shorter stories. Funny and sweet.

Honeymoon in Paris

Oh what a great story this one was. Two stories of a present and past couple spending their honeymoon in Paris and adjusting to marriage. Both sweet stories.

Last year’s coat

An heartfelt story of making do.

Thirteen days with John C

Not one of my favourite stories on here but still good.

Margot

I loved the quick story. Funny and uplifting.

The Christmas list

I wish I had done the same to my ex husband. Loved it.

Platinum Natural pet food & care

Ok I had a pack of samples sent to me for my little dog to try.  70% fresh meat so not needed to add water.

The chicken was the first tried and no nasty smell when opening.

Okay I’m not going to eat it so I just have to go on my pet. She ate it up with no hesitations or dirty look that she gives if she doesn’t like it. The only downside is that the nuggets are not round to use in her treat ball.

The next flavour I tried with my dog was the Iberico and greens. These have a plesent smell to the nuggets that had my dog jumping up for them so that’s a seal of approval from her.

The lamb was just as fragrant so my dog was just as excited to try these. She hasn’t been on long enough to say if there would be trouble with wind but I would be happy to pick up a bag and switch from her usual food.

Voyage of the Heart – Sorata Lane

Not a review copy but my next read.

This is about the transportation of the war brides after the war. The first chapter sets up the beginning of a group of war brides budding friendship. Seems good so far.

The story breaks down into three parts. The first part is the backstory and getting to know the characters and budding friendships.

Just started the second section and very moving start to this part. This part is the reunion with their partners.

The four individual story are strong enough separately but a great story that brought a tear to my eyes more than once.

The Hanging Girl – Eileen Cook

Intriguing story so far of a girl called Skye way over her head in a prank that’s turning sinister… Only part way though but good character and it is written brilliantly so far.

Okay coming up to half way now and I hate to ruin the story but talking about the first twist but I didn’t see it coming. I hope the story continues to keep me fascinated and interested.

This have kept me guessing and I was often way off. Great story.
Forgot to say that this was provided free for an unbiased review on NetGalley.

Skye Thorn has given tarot card readings for years, and now her psychic visions are helping the police find the town’s missing golden girl. It’s no challenge—her readings have always been faked, but this time she has some insider knowledge. The kidnapping was supposed to be easy—no one would get hurt and she’d get the money she needs to start a new life. But a seemingly harmless prank has turned dark, and Skye realizes the people she’s involved with are willing to kill to get what they want and she must discover their true identity before it’s too late.
